CULTURE WORKS CAFÉ OPENS FOR LUNCH AND DINNER HOURS
CultureWorks, Ashland’s newest and hippest organic vegetarian café and performing arts center, will finally launch its extended café hours with lunch and dinner. The Café will be open all day from 11am to 12 midnight from Wednesday to Saturday and 11am to 10pm on Sunday and will feature an extended selection of organic menu offerings and a special “afternoon tea” menu, featuring organic pastries, cakes, and raw desserts.
“So far, the response from the local community has been incredible,” says CultureWorks founder Chris Iverson. “People are constantly applauding our vision of creating a healthy all-ages venue in Ashland.” Iverson, who is a renowned vegetarian and raw foods chef, has assembled the best chefs from around the area who specialize in healthy and raw cuisine. Joining the team is Jeff Hauptman, a professional chef with over 30 years experience in the catering and restaurant industry. Jeff is also a cooking teacher and caterer and coaches individuals with dietary restrictions, food allergies and teaches Diabetes management and weight control. Previous work has led him to be acknowledged in Oprah Winfrey’s diet cookbook, and in “The Healthy Kitchen” a cookbook by Dr. Andrew Weil. The Gerson Institute has also acknowledged him for his work in preparing their therapeutic recipes.
Also joining the team is Ashland resident John Larsen. Larsen has been a raw food chef for over 11 years. He has successfully run two raw food restaurants and a catering business and has traveled the world cooking for retreats and teaching raw food classes. He has been featured in two best selling raw food recipe books, “The Complete Book of Raw Foods” and “Raw Gourmet”. He has also spoken on national radio and has been a keynote speaker at various food conferences. John brings his passion for food and artistic presentation to the Cultureworks menu.
In keeping with CultureWorks commitment of bringing world class entertainment to the Rogue Valley, the newly extended café hours will also feature free dinner time shows with nationally recognized touring acts and local artists. “We are totally excited to offer our dinner time customers free shows with our state of the art production”, says CultureWorks events manager Chris Deckker. “We will be the only restaurant in Ashland of its kind.”
